July News Update
July 28, 2026

July. The city is melting, terraces are packed and if your appartement has approximately the temperature of a sauna … may I remind you of the fact that The Brick has air conditioning? Not much to report this month on the admin front, except that our tote bags have been restocked. New members who didn’t receive one yet can come claim theirs at the front desk. Long time member? Refer a friend and we’ll throw one in for you too.

Meet Your Longevity Coaches

A few months in and Stokers is starting to find its way into people’s routines. It’s our show pony: the gym, the physiotherapy services by The Wave, the café by The Prep Kitchen, the location in 't Groen Kwartier. The real draw, however, is its focus on longevity. A slew of treatments from oxygen tank, sauna, ice bath to red light therapy, lymphatic roller and hydrowave massage, all included in your membership.
Some of these treatments you know instinctively: sauna, ice bath… fairly self-explanatory. But a hydrowave massage? An oxygen tank? Less obvious. And let's be honest, nobody is sitting down to read a full explainer on hyperbaric oxygen therapy before booking a session.
Anyone who's curious but has no idea where to start (which honestly is most of us) can now book a consultation with Olivia, Mikela and Lynn. The fairy godmothers of Stokers if you will. Go talk to them about where you are, what your goals are and what's been getting in the way. They'll help you build a plan that makes sense for your life, covering not just the treatments but nutrition, training and lifestyle too.Head over to the Clubplanner app to book your longevity consult.

Weyns Wijnt X The Brick

If you frequent our CrossFit classes, you know Isabelle: The red-haired force of nature making grown men cry on the pull-up bar and Ski Erg. What you might not now is that when she’s not at The Brick, she’s running Weyns Wijnt, a wine bar and bottle shop in Paleisstraat where she’s on a mission to make wine less intimidating.
Isabelle has a master’s in Art History, a WSET level 3 certification and is currently working toward a WSET level 4, one of the most respected wine qualifications in the world. However, none of that translates into highbrow jargon or elitism. She has divided her entire selection into nine recognizable wine styles, each with their own color code and information cards, because she firmly believes it’s the wine world’s job to meet the consumer where they’re at, not the other way around. Most of what Isabelle stocks she imports directly, which means she knows the winemakers personally and can offer bottles you won’t easily find elsewhere.
Until the end of August, The Brick members get a charcuterie board for two from butcher Michielsen - on the house - witch the purchase of any bottle consumed at the bar. Just show your membership card, while stocks last. Weyns Wijnt, Paleisstraat 7 Open Wednesday to Saturday, 11:00-21:00(Closed for summer holidays until july 31th)

Hotel Pilar X The Brick

I was about to declare the summer of 2026 ‘Drunk Girl Summer’, but then I remembered this is a gym newsletter and I might be at risk of losing this copywriting gig after my very first edition already. Anyway we have a second exciting and drinks-themed collaboration for our members.

On top of that, Hotel Pilar is running a summer sale: Use discount code SUMMER26 to get 20% off all stays until September 15th 2026. Hotel PilarLeopold de Waelplaats 34, 2000 Antwerphello@hotelpilar.be(Foodbar is closed for summer holidays between july 24th and august 11th)

The Recruit

Michiel doesn’t need an introduction - this piece isn’t about him anyway. But what you might not know is that he secretly scouts fresh talent in his own Pilates classes. Today we are meeting one of his proteges.

Britt was born in Aalst and grew up in small town Denderleeuw. As a young girl, her mum would take her to Antwerp for a weekend of shopping. She fell in love with the city and decided she’d live here one day.

While studying at the University of Antwerp, she went looking for a new hobby and decided to give Pilates a try. She loves being challenged and Pilatesscratched exactly that itch. When Michiel spotted her talent and convinced her to join our Pilates Academy, becoming a teacher wasn't really the plan. She just wanted to become a better athlete and deepen her own knowledge. And yet here we are. Now who is this mysterious, dark-haired Pilates fairy? Her friends describe her as passionate, deep and someone of integrity. She doesn’t disagree, self-awareness is kind of her thing. Her first love has always been fashion and next year she is finally going to study it properly. Pilates just kind of happened along the way, but for someone who sees life as one long learning curve, a single passion was never going to be enough.
When Britt is not teaching (go find her classes in the app!) or standing on her head (inversion yoga is her current obsession), you’ll find her at one of these: EATGiraffe, Spiridon (get the octopus and the beans!) & Osaka  COFFEECaffenation & Andy  SHOPLabels Inc, Luxeparel, Enso Vintage, Louis, Acne Studios & Diesel
