WHO’S THAT GIRL…?
LA, LA, LA, LA, LA, LAAA…
8 years later & I’m still that girl AKA one of the proud OG’s of the Brick Antwerp.
For the people who don’t know me: ‘Hi my name is Julie’ & my friends call me Jules. I’m a sporty spice with a slightly chaotic and structured mind at the same time, fueled by coffee, good vibes and 2000’s R’n’B.
The Brick has been my home and family for as long as I can remember. 8 years ago I started as a student but it didn’t take long for me to fall in love with fitness, and BOOM.. I started studying for a career in personal training, 1-1 training where it’s all about YOU.
During personal training we first set your personal goals, it literally can be anything: lose weight / gain muscle , feel better in your skin physically/mentally, improving your technique, recover from an injury, .. or maybe you just want to be that badass chick that can lift her boyfriend whenever he’s annoying. You name it, and we’ll make it work.
Goals are personal.. goals can be whatever.
But hey…some people are just better together!
As the Brick got bigger, the community got bigger and last but not least, my butt got bigger… besides 1-1 training, I also started teaching group classes like Peachy, Abs & Butts, Strong & Circus.
For the people who know me or already joined my classes, you will know I’m a big sucker for 2000’s R’n’B. If you’re not singing these songs at the top of your lungs like you just had your heart broken, you ain’t living right.
So it’s safe to say that no class goes by without a banger by Queen B, Riri, TLC or, to top it off,… Gwen Stefani.
BUT ALSO….”I LOVE BIG BELLIES AND I CANNOT LIE”
As my fellow PTs are mostly men (who I absolutely adore btw) I wanted to differentiate myself a little bit. As we all know ‘girls run the world’ and that’s where I come in, with pre-postnatal training. One of the most special periods in your life requires the right approach, both mommy and her little one deserve the right care and information on how to train correctly to keep both mind and body strong. We’ll achieve this by strength training where our biggest goal is to create a strong body. This is important not only during pregnancy but also during labor and will allow new mothers to bounce back faster when that little sweetheart arrived.
THAT BEING SAID:
So “who’s that girl” really ? I think you can describe me best as a people person who wears her heart on her sleeve, is ambitious, knows what she wants and is probably the most clumsy personal trainer you’ll ever meet and has no problem owning that.
Life motto: hard work pays off but let’s make it a fun ride to be in.

THE BRICK X GHENT THROWDOWN
The Ghent Throwdown is a national CrossFit competition held last weekend.
It’s the 3d time we are participating and this edition no less than 30 athletes & coaches gave it their all.
Two 1st places.
An absolute ton of finalists.
We are becoming a force to be reckoned with.
As you may have noticed we have changed the lockers, finally no more looking for lost keys! let us remind you that even though the locks have changed the policy to occuping lockers when you are not in the gym has not.
Don’t be that anti-social guy/girl and we will live happily ever after.
Simple how-to-use: enter your code when the lock is green, close it so it becomes red and change your chosen code so it is locked.
Re-enter your chosen code when it is red to open it and it will become green again, ready for the next member to use.

BOOKINGS AND CANCELS
As you all know we offer so many classes these days that a little weekly managing is in order.
For us to keep adding to the roster, we need to know how classes perform.
This can only be achieved if people actually show up to the classes they booked.
It pains us to still see classes with full waiting lists and empty seats.
We therefore adjusted the timing in which people can book and cancel.
This will only be possible during our opening hours, which are 07:00 ‘till 22:00.
Want more classes? Cancel in time. Or show up.
We would once more like to remind everyone to cancel their classes within the 4 hour window.
Cancel your classes on time through the app and don’t forget to check in on all locations with your QR-code, badge or card.
Phone, e-mail or social media are not valid ways to cancel your classes.
