What is Buenas Open?
Born from lockdown fatigue, the original idea for Buenas Open was founded in the illustrious summer of 2021. Remember when in between house arrests we were allowed to be free for a little while? This little spark of freedom was enough for our boys to brainstorm padel and entertainment into the concept we now know and love.
So to answer the title question:
Buenas Open is an old school elite tennis themed event consisting of a recreational padel tournament followed by a social gathering.

Bruce Banner aka The HulkLaurent De Greef aka Coach Lau
Laurent De Greef has been working as a visual effects artist for over 10 years now. He specializes in explosions and setting things on fire of all things. Where all of us normal boys had to grow out of the urge to set things on fire & blow stuff up, Coach Lau made it his whole career, albeit digital. After working on many movies and tv shows he will be blowing up the likes of Sylvester Stallone & Jason Statham soon in the Expendables 4. He will thus reach the absolute pinnacle of shit to blow up. (I’m not jealous, just in awe).
“Lau smash!” could be perceived as his work-life motto, where have I heard that phrase before?
When he is not working in his digital laboratory however, he can be found mostly naked, except for some ripped shorts, sweating and screaming. Again, I don’t want to draw any MARVEL parallels but my mind just connects dots, in this case green ones.
His passion for CrossFit started in Ghent in 2015 to get rid of some student kilos and never stopped since. He now also coaches people to move more consciously and functionally. Or as Coach Lau likes to put it himself: “building cathedrals requires a strong foundation, a lot of patience & top class teamwork”.
He started his coaching gigs in November 2021 to pass on what he had learned so far and he can teach you too. Be sure to check out his fundamental classes, a 4-part introduction to the wonders of CrossFit each Saturday on alternating months.

BOOKINGS AND CANCELS
As you all know we offer so many classes these days that a little weekly managing is in order.
For us to keep adding to the roster, we need to know how classes perform.
This can only be achieved if people actually show up to the classes they booked.
It pains us to still see classes with full waiting lists and empty seats.
We therefore adjusted the timing in which people can book and cancel.
This will only be possible during our opening hours, which are 07:00 ‘till 22:00.
Want more classes? Cancel in time. Or show up.
We would once more like to remind everyone to cancel their classes within the 4 hour window.
Cancel your classes on time through the app and don’t forget to check in on all locations with your QR-code, badge or card.
